EVENT FAQ

• 16 hours of different type of Workshops: Basics skills, All level, Level up Challenges, Jazzy Choreo, Comtemporary Choreo and Preparty workshops from Thursday evening to Saturday night.
• Ability to enter 2 rewarded competitions :  Open Strictly Swing contest on Thursday night and Open Jack&Jill contest on Saturday night.
• Diner Buffet & soft dirinks on Saturday night Gala
• Pros Show every night. Ori Tahiti show on Saturday night and more surprises during parties.
• 3 nights of social dancing: Thursday, Friday and Saturday parties will take place at the new hotel Tahiti Lagoon Resort in Punaauia.
• Free parking at the Hotel Tahiti Lagoon Resort

Not included: Ability to board our tahitian pontoons on Sunday, transport, room, breakfasts, lunches, Thursay and Friday diners.

Upon arrival, register at our counter. A specific wristband depending on your pass ticket will be given to you as well as a bib number you will need to wear to compete. Your dance role must be mentioned to have the best chance of being in parity. 

Competitors must then check in 15min before the competition begins and line up on stage when the Emcee is calling their names. It is recommended to be in the ballroom at the start of each block of competition in case the Head Judge makes any changes to the running order.

All workshops are full We ask that you assess your skill level fairly, using the following as a guide. If you find material particularly challenging, but don’t want to leave the class, we suggest sitting on the side and observing the lesson, so as not to hold your fellow students back.

NEWCOMER : If you have never danced West Coast Swing before or have practiced less than 3 months, come and learn the basics patterns, concepts & fundamentals with Champions on our BASICS Classes - from Thursday to Saturday. Those Workshop are included in the each party pass, so you can practice during socials with our lovely community and pros.

NOVICE: If you are a more-than-3-months-practice dancer, you are welcome to all Classes from Thursay to Saturday. Reviewing basics with champions is such a marvelous idea, as well as learning nes patterns and good technics to increase your pleasure to dance. Don't forget to learn our pro's choreo, that will certainly inspire you during socials.

INTERMEDIATE and +: For all dancers who have mastered West Coast Swing and have a fluid foundation, our champions will be happy to offer you a 30-minute challenge throughout the weekend, in addition to each ALL LEVELS class. The choreographies are also a great idea to expand your vocabulary and help others progress in their WCS journey.

You can bring and eat your own food at MATISSE BALLROOM from Thursday evening  until Saturday afternoon. Tables and chairs will be arranged in the room.

It is not allowed to bring food during the Saturday night Gala, as we provide a buffet (included in the Weekend Pass or Saturday night Gala Full Pass). 

On Sunday we provide a nice lunch but you are welcome to bring food and drinks to share too.

It is alway possible to eat at the bar or the restaurant of the hotel for a very good price. Please check their opening hours.

Please note that alcohol is not served by TOWCS from Thursday to Saturday. Alcohol is available for purchase at the hotel bar, but alcohol is prohibited from being brought into the Matisse Ballroom. However, exotic beers and punches will be served on the pontoons on Sunday.

To join all Tahitian Open WCS venues you'll need a car. To rent one, check availabilities with our partners. Carpooling is higly recommended.

• MATISSE Ballroom: Located inside the Tahiti Lagoon Resort hotel, downstairs from the lobby. Free outdoor parking.
• FLOATING PONTOONS: Pier is located just nearby Mr. Bricolage in Faa'a City. Free outdoor parking.
