Tahitian Open West Coast Swing

COMPETITIONS

At the moment, Tahitian Open WCS is a non WSDC Sanctioned Event.

In 2025 we would like to offer you a paradisiac stress free weekend with friends and big Westie Family !

With that said, enjoy competition as a good way to challenge yourself and be pleased to be supported by the other attendees who are watching you.

This event is gender neutral. Competitors must define their primary role as a leader or follower throughout the event.

Competitors are allowed to also compete in their non-dominant role as long as they don’t qualify in both for the same division in which case competitors will not be permitted to dance both roles in the same division.

For strictly competitions, a competitor may only dance in one category. They may choose to partake as a leader or follower in the appropriate category based on their skill level for the role.

Here is the breakdown of each division offered:

Strictly Swing:
Strictly competitions are designed to highlight skills in spontaneous WCS dancing and the ability to dance well with a chosen partner. Dancers enter the competition as a couple and dance to music pre-selected by the DJ.

Depending on the competitors level and numbers, we may provide 2 divisions. Stay informed of any updates published on our social media.

Jack & Jill :
Jack & Jill competitions are designed to highlight skills in spontaneous WCS dancing and the ability to dance well with a variety of partners.

Competitors enter as individuals, are randomly assigned partners, and dance to music pre-selected by the DJ. Dancers will be judged individually in the heats & as a couple in the final.

Depending on the competitors level and numbers, we may provide 2 divisions. Stay informed of any updates published on our social media.
